Mountain-Bike Racing on Television

The ABC Wide World of Sports TV movie, "Ride of Your Life," the story of the first world-class mountain-bike event in Vail, Colorado, in 1991, was broadcast last summer. The race was won by Yeti's Juli Furtado. This September (4-7), Vail becomes the first U.S. city to host the World Cup Finals.

Both the 10-event Grundig/UCI World Cup '92 Series and the 6-event NORBA National Championship Series can be seen exclusively on ESPN. Canadian television will broadcast the world cup leg in Quebec as well as the World Mountain Bike Championships.

The sport can also be seen every week on "Fat Tire Journal," a mountain-biking magazine show on the Prime TV Network.
